What People Are Saying About My Weekly Lessons:

Since I met you online, l've never looked back. I have gained immensely from your wonderful teaching and expressive illustrations. I am becoming a better player and indeed a better musician by day through your lessons. Thank you so much Jared.

Arnold

I must say, your guided learning approach to music on the guitar is the best programed learning experience that l've encountered in a lifetime of learning that includes medicine, informatics, quality improvement methodology, and multiple languages.

Jeff

Your content is outstanding Jared, I have improved significantly in less than a month, keep it up! 👍

Carlos

Hi Jared, Just want to say that your lessons of YouTube are THE BEST, and a perfect complement to my guitar teacher. Thank you for taking the time to explain everything in detail and in a way my brain understands :)

David

Love your work and how you approach learning- you are my favourite teacher on the whole big ole Internet!

John

You’re the first YouTuber that I consider my ‘teacher’!

Garrett

Even though there are hundred sites out there, your site is the one that suits me best. I am an automotive tech 50 years this year and I need to how a system works, how does it malfunction and what steps I need to perform to fix the fault and then verify my fix. Your teaching is EXACTLY that what I do.

Oliver

Your videos have really helped ignite a fresh interest in developing my ability. You're a very gifted instructor... lots of people have taught things similar to you, but it feels like your approach just makes more sense.

Bruce

Your videos helped me grow as a musician so much, and i have been watching them only for a relatively short amount of time. Thank you for that.

Darian

This man is a genius and has done more for my progress than all other channels combined. Why doesnt anyone else give us the basics that may be hard work but we really need to progress. The only channel that is like real lessons and not gimmicks. The best lessons online to truly progress. Thanks so much. You are the best, coolest, the real thing. I owe all my life long dream of progress to you.

@user-Id8mq2xq5t (YouTube)

You're a hell of a teacher, Jared. You offer priceless information that means your fellow guitarists, those of us who are less well versed than you in music theory, don't have to keep reinventing the wheel, so to speak. I love your videos and appreciate your generosity.

@JDC57 (YouTube)

I have been following a lot of guitars instructors over the internet. I have never seen an instructor who has the teaching ability that you have. Eversince I subscribed to your page, I am no longer confused. Especially when it comes to, the scales, the modes, the chords and so much more. I learned so much from your excellent teaching, I will continue to enriche my guitar vocabulary thanks to your great teaching. Thank you

@frantzgermain1545 (YouTube)

Jared - this series of Jazz Standards for guitar is fantastic - it rivals any course that Berklee Online offers.

@meechomarcho (YouTube)

This is by far the best guitar channel on YouTube. It is amazing that you are teaching 25 standards with so much detail. Thanks for everything you share with us.

@milorah (YouTube)

Everyone else on Youtube says they have the secret to make improvement easy and fast, and here's Jared saying let it be hard. Let it be slow, let it be difficult. What a breath of fresh air!

@bebopisthetruth (YouTube)

Your teaching has completely changed how I understand music. Can't believe the quality and depth of what you offer for free. Thank you, Jared, for sharing your expertise!

@samersaad1017 (YouTube)

Borkowski is in a class of its own when teaching from beginner to advanced level. As a very old man, playing Gypsey Jazz before being crippled in an accident almost 50 years ago, ive studied various masters and Jared is right there with the very best.

@faanmuller4569 (YouTube)

Kudos. If all teachers taught lessons like this, no one would ever quit. Really appreciate how the skills necessary to perform the piece well are the product of analysis of the music and the exercises to develop the skills.

@wlovett4 (YouTube)

Jared, you are an amazing artist and teacher. I'm just getting back to guitar after many years, and I am enjoying your lessons and learning so much! I feel that you are the very best teacher on YouTube. Thank you so much for all your hard work. :)

@AT46TF4 (YouTube)

Of all the channels I watch about jazz guitar, this is by far the best. It's given me the outlook that jazz guitar is not a black art! It makes things simple without over simplifying it

@colink4823 (YouTube)

Every time I am approaching a new concept, your videos are always the most concise, and immediately usable toward making music. Thank you so much for your effort, and empathy toward those of us less knowledgeable. It's like you know exactly what tools we need.

@itsahsah (YouTube)

This Video Is AWESOME! Instead of going to music school, I SHOULD HAVE WATCHED THIS VID!! You get straight SCALES G. B3 over CHORDS E, F F, B3 Jazz Scales for Every Chord Type (ULTIMATE GUIDE) o the point to explain somewhat complicated principles that other educators often explain with a lot of confusion. Ultimate Guide Thanks man!

@seymourceikemusic6699 (YouTube)

Jared you are the best teacher on YouTube!!

Bradley

One of the most helpful guitar players in the biz

@micr0ps2 (YouTube)

Jared, hi. I recently discovered your YouTube channel and immediately found it extremely helpful. The thing I like most about your approach is your attempt to demystify any process you’re teaching on. You break it down into little manageable chunks that connect point A to point B. So much other content can feel overwhelming because it goes from 0 to 60 with the instructor just playing the end result, with not enough "in between".. you take the time to reinforce that it’s OK to struggle during the learning process and show us very effective ways to practice. THANK YOU!

Alexander

hands down best guitar channel

@itsahsah (YouTube)

Your instructions and method is top tier, thank you for your time and explanations. This is a place to learn guitar. Excellent!

@benbush1227 (YouTube)

I've been playing guitar for 19 years, learning by ear and many attempts at learning theory. The past month l've found your chord building playlist and I wanna say thank you. The amount of progress I've made in just a month is crazy and I finally understand the fretboard and what my fingers have been doing for all these years. And now lessons about my favorite jazz guitarist. Thank you so much for all your knowledge!

@echoingphilosophy1918 (YouTube)

Absolutely brilliant! ... You, sir, have helped me reach new levels in my playing. Thank you.

@1tigercat2 (YouTube)

This guy has one of the best youtube channels for learning jazz and improv, i'm just a fellow subscriber but I have tons of his videos in tabs that I frequently look back at for practice.

Not-a-Cat_69 (Reddit)

Jared, your videos are always a breath of fresh air, never derivative! Your contribution to the thinking guitarists' progress and enjoyment (and I hope we are many!) is invaluable! I have purchased your courses and found fantastic value in them. Thank you so much for the great intellectual contribution to our enjoyment of the guitar mastering process!!!

Iggy

This channel is a sanctuary. YouTube can be a quicksand made of perfectionism and deficit thinking. You tie a rope to a tree and throw it out to us, so we can pull ourselves out. Thank you.

Michael

This is by far the best teacher on youtube when it comes to guitar theory hands down.

@ironskater121 (YouTube)

I just have to jump in here to tell people to absolutely listen to Jared. I'm a professional multi-instrumentalist and I cannot overstate how much I strongly agree with 95% of everything I see in his videos. I constantly find myself damn near yelling at the screen in agreement because his pedagogy is so solid and yet is something I don't hear enough from almost any of the content I see across multiple instrumentalists I active watch and read. He isn't trying to teach you one tune or lick that you'll forget in a few weeks or won't understand how to actually apply. He's teaching you how to get better at the instrument and as a musician holistically in a way that might be slower to start but will lead to you being truly liberated in your ability to do what you want on guitar almost regardless of your specific goals. These sorts of foundational principles of HOW to practice end up applying to everything and every style and the better you get at self-assessing and learning to puzzle through how to solve your own problems and make up your own exercises to address very specific issues...the better tou get faster. It let's tou sort of "see the Matrix" in a sense. So definitely subscribe to him. His solution in this video in particular is ridiculously similar to the advice I give pianists all the time. Find a tricky passage in something you're working on, isolate it, then practice it in every key. But due to the way guitar works yhst makes less sense, but his outline of doing it across different levels string sets in many positions is the exact analog for guitar.

Yeargdribble (Reddit)

Even as an advanced player that has all of these concepts and more under my fingers, I still enjoy watching your videos for their quality and your exceptional talent as a teacher. Your channel really is a gem and the fact that you're sharing all of this high effort and beautifully structured content for free is astounding, considering how many creators would charge for lesser content.

@stfwn (YouTube)

Lessons like this for guitarists are a rare gem.

@animatedstill4729 (YouTube)

This is one of the best guitar YT channels: Jared's "methodical approach" doesn't just give us 10 sundry examples, but shows us his thought process of producing them methodically so that we could recreate them or find a few more of our own.

Mason

Jared...you're a master in making exercises fun and rewarding! Great lessons.

@DeGroove (YouTube)

You have a clear voice, great speaking style, and you don't contaminate your presentations with annoying background music and brief flashes of senseless image inserts that many YouTubers feel compelled to insert to make their material more "attractive". Your videos are like being face-to-face in a room with you.
