In this lesson, I'm going to show you the melodic minor scale on guitar and how to use the modes of melodic minor. They are as follows:

  1. Melodic Minor
  2. Dorian b2
  3. Lydian Augmented
  4. Lydian Dominant
  5. Mixolydian b6
  6. Locrian Natural 2
  7. Altered Scale

Learning the melodic minor scale on guitar can be a little weird at first, but you can quickly come to recognize and appreciate its characteristic sound.

For each of the modes of melodic minor, I'll go into more detail about how to start playing with them, and I'll tell you what chords each of the modes are typically played over and why.
