💬 LESSON DESCRIPTION:

This week, I have for you part 9 of my series called “Chord Melody Made Simple.”

In this lesson, I go over all of the chord melody scales through the key of C in the first position using 3-note voicings of 7th chords.

Arranging chord melodies with 3-note voicings of 7th chords can be tricky because we’re required to use rootless versions of the chords. When isolated, the chords don’t quite sound like the quality you might expect. But when used in an arrangement, it magically works.

I’ve added graphics on the screen so you can follow along.

Don’t worry about mastering all of these chord melody scales (unless you want to), just try to grab a few takeaways or pieces that you think sound good and it will be worth your while.

If you’re interested in chord melody, then this video is for you.

Thanks for watching!
